About the Job

Reporting directly to the Manager of Product Development you actively support Technical Service (WO) and Research and Product Development (R&D) initiatives. Working closely with the R&D team on the development of new products and contribute by performing high-quality lab experiments and analysis. The majority of the incumbents daily responsibilities will include the preparation of emulsions or other formulated products chemical analysis quality control and application testing.

What Youll Be Doing

• Supports assigned R&D Projects by performing experiments and analysis. Works closely with the Manager of Product Development and the R&D team towards the development of new products for new and existing applications.
• Leads assigned Technical Service (WO) projects by planning analyzing and reporting of the experiments. Works closely together with Manager of Product Development and the Manager of Quality Assurance and Quality Control to meet critical deadlines and support our Operations and Technical Sales teams.
• Expected to build a detailed understanding of the different chemistries technologies and products developed and commercialized by the company.
• Support Technical Services with quality concerns technical inquiries and troubleshooting.
• Uses analytical equipment in the laboratory. Expected to become an expert in operating sophisticated equipment such as TGA DSC particle sizing optical microscope surface tension analyzer and dynamic foam analyzer.
• Support the management of analytical equipment in the laboratory. Expected to develop SOPs follow measurement and calibration protocol provide training assist other R&D personnel and schedule maintenance.

Heres What You Need

• 1-2 years of chemical industry experience or CO-OP experience in a chemical laboratory or production environment will be considered an asset but is not in a laboratory setting in school or through work experience.
• . in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or closed related discipline; or a College Diploma in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of chemistry or chemical engineering necessary to understand principles of asphalt silicone wax and oil emulsions.
