Job Description
Williston Central School has a full-time opening for a 5th-8th Grade math intervention
position to work with students who need additional instruction and support to achieve grade level standards. This dynamic position may include the following:
- Small group instruction based on the grade level curriculum units
- Co-planning and teaching with the math teacher in the regular classroom with a focus on differentiating for students in need
- Ongoing collaboration with math teachers to meet the needs of students
- In conjunction with the math coordinator providing leadership to the middle level math team
The ideal candidate will be licensed as a middle level math teacher and have proven
expertise in the following areas:
- Building student relationships & confidence in the math classroom
- Experience with Open Up Resources and other 5-8 programs aligned with the standards
- Knowledge and value of the math practice standards
- Collaborating with a wide-variety of educators
- Collecting interpreting and using data to drive instruction
- Demonstrating flexibility organization and initiative
- Ability to self-direct the work as needed
