Job Description
EMPLOYER: PeerIslands US Inc.
JOB TITLE: Principal Software Engineer
LOCATION: Southlake TX (telecommute role may work remotely from anywhere in the US)
DUTIES: Define communicate and execute the architectural strategy for large complex and distributed systems; Lead the design and development of scalable cloud-native applications ensuring adherence to microservices architecture and event-driven patterns; provide technical guidance on projects while promoting best practices in code quality security and performance; Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Operations Security) to shape cloud transformation initiatives and deliver innovative solutions; Own and guide the technical roadmap for cloud-native development ensuring solutions are secure scalable and performant; Promote and implement DevOps best practices including CI/CD observability automation and container orchestration; Lead high-level design discussions and decisions incorporating modern patterns like domain-driven design and event-driven architecture; Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to continuously improve the software development process; Ability to learn emerging technologies like Machine learning (ML) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Gen AI and also lead the project implementations.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science Applied Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology or a related field and 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a software engineer application developer software architect technical staff or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 5 years in software development building robust and scalable solutions utilizing Java Python or Scala or Go; Spring and Spring Boot; Kafka or RabbitMQ; Redis or Hazelcast; PostgreSQL MySQL or MongoDB or Spanner; GCP AWS or Azure Cloud platforms; ELK Stack Grafana or Prometheus; and GibLab or Jira. Telecommute role may work remotely from anywhere in the US.
