Job Summary:

Ready to step into a leadership role in addiction treatment The Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Program Manager to oversee substance abuse counseling services at one of our correctional institutions. In this role youll lead a team of counselors provide clinical supervision manage program operations and support the successful delivery of treatment services. Youll also coordinate peer mentor programs collaborate with facility staff and ensure services align with state policies and treatment standards. Job Duties:

- Travels to facilities/institutions to assess counseling services/subordinate work products
- Plans coordinates and attends meetings and training sessions
- Tracks and manages substance abuse staff schedules
- Ensures counseling services are provided in accordance with applicable laws rules regulations policies and procedures
- Provides clinical supervision reviews and signs off on clinical documentation
- Liaisons between counselors and operational security staff to maximize program utilization and minimize unit operational disruption
- Carries a partial clinical caseload
- Conducts one-on-one clinical assessments and individual or group counseling sessions
- Facilitates substance abuse education classes and therapy groups
- Oversees inmate peer mentors
- Coordinates peer mentors guest speakers and volunteer services
- Maintains clinical records and writes individual substance abuse treatment plans and relapse prevention plans
- Reviews maintains and troubleshoots the program participation database
- Reviews develops and recommends policies practices and process improvements for accuracy
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
- Addiction treatment principles and protocol
- Principles and practices of supervision
- Counseling techniques
- Adult learning processes
- ADCRR policies procedures and security practices
- Computers and various software such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Business English grammar and spelling

- Counseling interviewing and active listening
- Collecting and maintaining accurate clinical records data and documentation

- Manage and supervise a diverse group of professionals
- Contribute to staff counseling skills through clinical supervision and mentoring
- Deliver program curriculum to inmate participants in a classroom environment
- Professionally interact with participants security staff and the public in a group setting or one-on-one situations
- Work in a secure prison or correctional environment
- Collect and maintain statistical data
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Maintain accurate documentation and records

Selective Preference(s):

- Masters degree from an accredited school and three (3) years of progressively responsible managerial or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Peer Support Services in Arizona
- Correctional experience
- Knowledge of ADCRR policies procedures and ACIS

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Required to possess an independent counseling license from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LPC LIAC LCSW).

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

In an effort to maintain a safe environment all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
