Salary:
Network Administrator I: $28.28-$36.06
Network Administrator II: $28.90-$38.29
Network Administrator III: $31.51-$41.75
Nature of Work:
Performs professional administrative and technical work related to designing building implementing and maintaining the computer networks businesses and/organizations use. These networks may include the phone system intranet extranet and more. Responsible for the maintenance of these essential systems which may include assessing performance completing regular maintenance diagnosing issues and repairing problems. Works in a team environment as well as autonomously to resolve problems efficiently and expeditiously while focusing on department goals and objectives to deliver timely and accurate information to the decision-makers and operational teams. Work is performed under general supervision of the Network Support Manager and is subject to periodic review and evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications:
Network Administrator I: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Business Administration or related field and one (1) year of technical IT experience network management and system administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. IP networking routing switching and firewall management experience preferred.
Network Administrator II: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Business Administration or related field and three (3) years of technical IT experience network management and system administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. IP networking routing switching and firewall management experience preferred.
Network Administrator III: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Business Administration or related field and five (5) years of technical IT experience network management and system administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. IP networking routing switching and firewall management experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of IP networking including subnetting
- Experience in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS
- Experience in implementing maintaining and troubleshooting the following:
- IP routing protocols especially EIGRP and BGP
- IP access control lists
- IP firewalls especially Cisco Firepower
Additional Qualifications for Promotion:
Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employees last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.

- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
