Job Description
AECOMs faade engineering team are seeking a talented experienced and technical Senior Faade Engineer to Join our team in our London office.
We are a close core team of faade engineers currently delivering the design of a host of projects in the UK Ireland and further afield in a range of sectors including Healthcare Residential Commercial Transport Sports Mixed Use and Retrofit. Many of these are delivered as part of a multi-discipline AECOM design team in collaboration with our Sustainability Fire Structures MEP Lighting Acoustics Energy Cost and/ or Project Management consultants and specialisms. Our team also delivers work to external clients as a direct appointment.
To be successful in this role you will assume general responsibilities for faade consultancy input to a wide range of clients and projects and will pro-actively contribute to the growth of AECOMs Faade Engineering teams capabilities.
The faade team are currently working on a range of projects demonstrated by the selection below:
- From the refurbishment of Foster and Partners 10 Gresham Street in London to the new HS2 Birmingham Interchange Station.
- From the site installation of Eric Parrys Salisbury Square Development in London to the design of a new pharmaceutical laboratory in Brussels.
- From the design of a retractable envelope of an exclusive tennis facility in Saudi Arabia to the heritage sensitive design for a converted Grade II listed water tower.
Successful candidates should have experience of the following duties associated with the role. Experience of all is not essential:
- Implement a holistic engineering approach on our projects to encompass performance buildability and aesthetic considerations.
- Develop facade solutions from concept to implementation with a range of faade systems and materials.
- Share your knowledge with your colleagues and provide them mentorship and guidance.
- Work directly with our clients the wider design team and supply chain.
- Carry out and review engineering analyses such as thermal structural and embodied carbon.
- Contribute to the development and growth of the faade team.
- Assist with work winning.
Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in the faade industry and of dedicated faade consultancy experience.
- A strong ability to communicate effectively to be client-facing and to write concise and clear reports.
- A working understanding of system design considerations performance analysis of the systems and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant faade & structural software eg. Strand 7 SJ MEPLA Therm or Flixo Autocad to use all Microsoft Office and related packages.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An engineering degree.
- Faade Engineering Masters
