The salary range for this position is CAD $32.84/Hr. - CAD $41.35/Hr.

Summary

Were hiring in our GI Endoscopy Unit join a dynamic specialized team where your skills make a real impact! St. Pauls Hospitals GI Clinic performs over 9000 endoscopic procedures annually and is one of the few centres in Western Canada offering advanced training in the detection and treatment of gastrointestinal lesions.

As a Staff LPN youll be at the forefront of patient care working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing assessments and plans implementing and providing personal and nursing care to clients.
  • Participating in a variety of meetings including care conferences.
  • Assisting with the orientation of new staff and students as required.
  • Responding to and reports incidents according to established procedures.
  • Supporting fellow healthcare professionals.
  • Operating within the framework of Providence Health Cares mission vision and values.

What You Bring

Education Training and Experience

  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a practicing LPN registrant.
  • Current basic cardiac life support certification.
  • Advanced preparation in GI Endoscopy that includes completion of recognized post-basic education in gastroenterology/GI endoscopy nursing and a certificate of completion from the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) in gastroenterology or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Preference given to those with recent related GI endoscopy experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.
  • Ability to work as a member in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to apply decision-making and analytical skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize work.
  • Ability to teach and identify patient learning needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Your Day to Day:

  • Delivers safe respectful and individualized nursing care by following established procedures and evolving care plans including assessments monitoring and basic nursing interventions.
  • Performs and evaluates a wide range of clinical procedures including medication administration IV management wound care catheterizations and personal care tasks.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team supports RNs in complex care consults as needed and communicates with physicians regarding patient care and orders.
  • Assesses client and family needs promotes autonomy builds therapeutic relationships and encourages participation in daily living activities.
  • Supports documentation and clerical tasks maintains accurate patient records and assists with admissions discharges appointments and supply management.
  • Engages in continuous learning and safety practices including equipment use infection control emergency procedures staff training and quality improvement initiatives.
