Overall Job Summary: A Store Manager is responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in the Store by setting a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience. The role will ensure you have the Best Team and support their development as well as work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for the Store Team based on results values and leadership. The role will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards policies and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.
This position is within our Store & Sales Function and reports to our District Manager and has the following direct reports: Department Manager Department Supervisor Visual Merchandiser (if no SVM).
Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Sales and Profit
A Store Manager is responsible for reaching the Sales and Profit goals in the store by setting a plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience.
Regularly analyze and follow up Sales & Profit KPIs and take actions accordingly to maximize results
Together with the District Team set the hours plan in line with the sales budget
Together with the Store Management Team ensure that scheduling maximizes conversion within the frame of the hours plan
Together with the District and Store team prioritize actions that have a clear impact on selling
Give feedback to the District Team regarding the store allocations to secure a good garment level to support the selling
Ensure that the store execution continually meets H&M standards and follow up using the customer experience tool
Implement and follow up on the Store Operations Best Practices
Ensure H&M customer service standards are delivered in the store
Ensure that the maintenance in the store is managed in a cost-efficient way to meet H&M standards and initiate actions accordingly
Actively prevent loss together with Store Team and ensure that all appropriate audit guidelines are being follows
Actively participate in executing store routines and tasks including but not limited to delivery truck garment processing reductions and price changes
People and Teams
A Store Manager ensures the Best Teams and supports their development. The role will work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for the Store Team based on results values and leadership. The Store Manager will ensure we offer all employees fair and attractive work conditions and that all employee relation responsibilities legal requirements and H&M policies are fulfilled.
Oversee and manager recruitment training development and succession planning for the Store in line with H&M ROTD best practices
Evaluate and manage the performance of Store Team members; execute dialogues development plans feedback and follow ups and take actions to improve performance and develop the team accordingly
Actively work with talent and leadership development in the Store in order to support the business needs
Ensure regular and clear communication to the Store team on Business Performance Company Culture & Values and Country/Region/District/Store goals through daily Store Meetings and weekly/monthly Leadership Meetings
Ensure that health & safety legal and security issues are being handled to H&M standards and local laws securing the employee and customer safety at all times
Strengthen our Company Culture by promoting feedback in our daily work and coach the Store Team to do that same
Additional Accountabilities:
Sales and profit responsibility for the store
Accurate recording of sales figures and hours
What Youll Need to Succeed:
High School graduate or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors Degree is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of retail management or comparable experience
Ability to lift in excess of 20 pounds
Ability to stand for long periods of time bend stretch engage in repetitive motions push pull and carry items (mannequins clothing totes torsos etc.) for a short distance
Ability to climb a ladder and use a step stool
Ability to coach and counsel staff on performance management and progressive discipline techniques
Open availability including evenings and weekends
Basic computer skills such as browser navigation software interaction and data entry are needed
Around 5% travel required as necessary (District Meetings Workshops etc.)
