LOCATION: Office Base is Glasgow.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 27800 - 35786 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
BBC Sport Scotland serves audiences across digital television and radio covering football rugby and a wide range of other sporting events and personalities. Sportscene covers Scottish football and then some. Premiership SWPL Championship Scottish Cup European Qualifiers and Scotland internationals with live highlights and analysis.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Producer to join the BBC SPORT Scotland team. Reporting to the Assistant Editor for Television you will work primarily in television sport and be responsible for delivering content for the various Sportscene programmes plus original digital video content for online and social media.
Its not just football we are committed to reaching out to all of our audience and delivering a diversity of content that is both relevant and engaging.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Ability to offer new and fresh ways of delivering content; both editorial and colour-based with a multi-platform approach.
- Edit match highlights in a fast turnaround environment across our SPFL & SWPL coverage and have experience of directing and editing colour VT material and features.
- Generate fresh modern ideas for informative sports programmes/features.
- To watch and digitally log accurately sporting action identifying what is important or useful; either as pre-recorded material or live at Pacific Quay Glasgow.
- Coordinate the VT area - replays and analysis - at Pacific Quay or on live Outside Broadcasts and work closely with and direct EVS operatives.
- Work in conjunction with a VT Editor to edit highlights of sporting action into complete programmes or programme inserts.
- Knowledge and ability to use editing software Avid Newscutter/Media Composer Avid Assist/Media Manager desirable.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- This role requires significant experience in TV Sport Production.
- The ideal candidate will have a flair for content-making and experience of sport Outside Broadcasts fast turn-around programmes and post-production are essential.
- They will need to be bursting with creative ideas and treatments that reflect the wide audience the BBC needs to will also have a genuine enthusiasm and interest in sport in particular football.
- Someone with strong editorial skills who has an eye on not only providing linear content but a multi-platform approach and how best to promote our coverage.
- You will have ability to work to tight to deadlines as part of a team and as an individual.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Self-shooting ability also desirable.
