JOB DETAILS
JOB BAND: C
CONTRACT TYPE: 7M FTC (Could be extended not guaranteed) 2 days a week Weekend working (Friday 7 hour day & Saturday 5am -1pm)
DEPARTMENT: BBC Radio Norfolk Sussex Cambridge Essex
LOCATION: Office Base is Norwich - The Forum. Office based role.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 27300 - 37300 pro rata depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
JOB PURPOSE
BBC Radio Norfolk is looking for a creative and quick thinking Journalist to join our programme team specifically our regional Saturday Breakfast Show which goes out to Norfolk Suffolk Cambridgeshire and Essex. We are looking for a programme producer who has bags of ideas isnt scared to try new and ambitious ideas and sets high standards as an on air producer.
Setting up and live producing a four county Saturday Breakfast show which sets people up for the weekend is ear catching and a programme that people talk about. Youll have creative ideas a toolbox of creative ideas and be excellent at energising a presenter in a live studio environment.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Producing content for the programme
- Sourcing great guests who fit the programme brief
- Live Studio Production on Saturday morning
- Editorial and decision making skills
- Coming up with creative ideas and unafraid to refresh when needed
- Excellent audio editing skills
- Team player with high standards
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE/ ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Pre-Production and Live Production in a studio environment experience
- Production of content and sourcing of guests working to a programme brief
- Knowledge and experience of dira Startrack preferably in a regional environment
- Editorial decision making and knowing when to refer up
- Problem solving
- Technical knowledge of BBC Local including IMI Social Bionic Studio studio operation.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
- Experience of working in a regional environment / across several radio stations
- Knowledge of Norfolk Suffolk Cambridgeshire and/or Essex
