The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist and producer to join the ABCs Adelaide Newsgathering team.
The role will involve gathering preparing and writing high impact news content that meets the requirements of our digital and broadcast platforms. The role will include:
- Working alongside bureau leadership to commission and organise field operators to provide news coverage and ensure distinctive content.
- Mentoring content makers and supporting them to develop their craft.
- Anticipating national coverage needs across all platforms informed by coverage plans and real time analytics.
Position Description:JOURNALIST PRODUCER
About You
You have experience as a multi-platform news reporter delivering high-value content for local national and international audiences. Youll have a good understanding of planning and commissioning content for digital and broadcast audiences and experience coordinating editorial and operations staff in a busy News environment. A good understanding of Adelaide issues and events and their impact on audiences is essential.
To be a success in this role you will be an experienced and confident journalist with advanced editorial skills and judgement. You will also bring:
- Advanced teamwork communication interpersonal and time management skills.
- Considerable experience and understanding of using audience data to influence editorial decision making and content creation across digital mobile and broadcast platforms.
- Strong understanding of ABC News programming priorities and objectives.
- An unwavering commitment to understanding needs of our audience and the commissioning of content with them in mind.
