Were currently seeking a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME B1) to join our Cairns-based Engineering team. In this role youll be responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance in a safe efficient and compliant manner ensuring all work meets Jetstars high standards for safety quality and reliability.
Youll work closely with a range of specialist teams contributing to a strong engineering culture focused on operational excellence. This role is perfect for someone whos detail-oriented thrives in a fast-moving and sometimes unpredictable environment and takes pride in delivering work to the highest standard.

Were on the hunt for someone who:
- Is an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a sound knowledge of the Civil Aviation Regulations
- Hold a CASA Part 66 licence with B1 Unrestricted Type Rating for A320 (mandatory)
B787 and 717 is desirable however not mandatory. - Have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills supported with the ability to assess and interpret options and develop solutions for the line environment
- Have proven experience working in a line maintenance environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels
- Possess a strong working knowledge of and demonstrated experience in being actively involved in SMS activities (such as fatigue management workplace inspections reporting etc)
- Have achieved a minimum satisfactory performance rating during the last 12 months
- Have the ability to work a rotating shift pattern as required by business needs
- Offer proven and demonstrated ability to manage a team as well as actively delegate and provide feedback on work tasks
- Have a thorough working knowledge and experience with TRAX (or similar) Airbus manuals and Microsoft Office
- Be able to hold a valid AUS ASIC and ADA
