OCM LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - SUWANEE GA

Pay $15.00 - $23.00 per hour.

SUMMARY: Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid liquid or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control process control or product development by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as FTIRs ICPS balance/scales spectrophotometer gas chromatograph colorimeter and other equipment.Tests in-service lubricants for maintenance and reliability purposes for characteristics such as wear contamination viscosity density cleanliness and degradation by-products.Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used.Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment. Calibrates laboratory instruments.Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.Adds chemicals or raw materials to process solutions or products batches to correct or establish formulation to meet specifications.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Internships and laboratory experience will be considered.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to do some basic algebra calculus and trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES LICENSE AND REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license not .

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
