Job Description

About UP Education Network

UP Education Network manages and operates six schools in Boston Lawrence and Springfield MA. We serve over 3000 elementary and middle school students. UP is invited by local school districts to restart chronically underperforming district schools as UP Academies. Each UP Academy shares the same mission: to ensure that students acquire the knowledge skills and strength of character necessary tosucceed on the path to college and to achieve their full potential.

Role

The Office Manager plays a central role in ensuring a well-run efficient and responsive school. In addition to maintaining the schools administrative systems and routines the Office Manager functions as the primary contact person for all the schools constituents. The Office Manager must be able to communicate effectively with students teachers families trustees donors and visitors.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day activities of the school
  • Serve as the main point of contact in the school reception area greeting and documenting all visitors
  • Manage phones (answering calls re-directing calls taking messages placing calls creating school announcements etc.)
  • Manage the collection and maintenance of student personnel and school information
  • Manage school-wide daily systems including attendance
  • Plan and manage logistics and preparations for school events and activities as needed;
  • Manage school maintenance and supply systems office equipment and furnishings
  • Maintain school calendar of events

Qualifications

  • A strong belief in UP Education Networks core values: Students CommunityHumility Resilience and Humor
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Bachelors degree is preferred
  • Current authorization to work in the United States A candidate must have such authorization by hisor her first day of employment

Your salary is commensurate with experience; UP Academy follows the salary scales of each UP Academys host school district.
