Job Description
Middle School Math Teacher
Salary: NC Teacher Salary Scale
Reports to: Principal
Licensure: Individual must hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license for his/her area of assignment.
Job Summary
Lakeside Charter Academy is searching for a dedicated and experienced math teacher to join our team. As a math teacher you will be required to deliver lessons to middle school students grades 6th-8th that develop students theoretical and applied mathematical skills. To be successful as a math teacher you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to the students psychosocial needs.
Responsibilities
- Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual students differences.
- Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
- Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
- Present a positive role model for students that supports LCAs Pillars of Education.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly productive classroom environment.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning health and attitude problems.
- Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents school personnel and members of the public.
- Participates in staff committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
- Models non discriminatory practices in all activities.
- Any other assignment deemed appropriate by administration
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelors degree from an approved education program in subject areas
- NC Teaching License or have qualifications to obtain a NC teaching License
- Pass Criminal Background Check
- Commitment to go above and beyond when necessary to reach goals
- Strong planning execution and problem solving skills
- Leadership and team collaboration skills
