Title: Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) (BHS)
FUNCTION: The primary expectation of this club would be to create opportunities for
studentsto work and learn together to build relationships knowledge and
common purpose to advance diversity and LGBTQ issues for the larger school community.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate weekly club meetings
- Collaborate with administers to update school policy and increase awareness around diversity issues.
- Community liaison to PFLAG and LGBTQ organizations
- Coordinate community outreach and events
- Coordinate annual school wide social events
- Adheres to the adopted policies of the Bellingham School Committee.
EXPERIENCE:
- Preferably a member of the High School teaching staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dedication to the service of youth.
- Demonstrated ability to relate favorably with students.
