Position Description
The Department of Management in the School of Business Administration at The University of Mississippi invites applications for Adjunct Instructor of Business Law with classes starting in August of 2025. Selected applicants will join a pool of Instructors for future appointments when a course opening is available and their qualifications match the course requirements. An Adjunct Professor of Business Law focuses on teaching the Legal Environment of Business Course to undergraduate students.
Position Details
Appointment: Temporary
Assignment Type: Non-Tenure Track
The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Instructs undergraduate students in Business Law principles.
Maintains develops and schedules student learning experiences to achieve desired learning outcomes.
Plans develops and implements evaluation tools to assess student process towards course learning objectives.
Be familiar with learning management systems.
Other duties as determined by the Department of Management.
Minimum Qualifications
A Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school
A commitment to teaching in an environment dedicated to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students
Possessing and sharing expertise on contract constitutional employment property and tort laws
Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching in an institution of higher education
Prior knowledge and/or ability to use the Blackboard Ultra LMS
At least one year of practice experience in an area of business law or a closely related field
Relevant industry experience that includes current engagement in professional activities is preferred.
