General Description / Primary Purpose

The Coordinator of the Office of Title IX and Civil Rights under the direction of the Director or above assists in the design development and implementation of departmental processes and programs to ensure the effectiveness of the same with respect to compliance for Title IX and Civil Rights. Performs routine work that involves analytics qualitative research planning training and organizational policy review and interpretation.

Job Functions

  • Manages in-take process for all discrimination complaints.
  • Schedules meetings for investigations.
  • Distributes correspondence regarding investigation case updates and distributes final documents.
  • Create and update case files in Maxient.
  • Manages the confidential personnel records associated with complaint investigations about programs and services provided by the Office of Title IX and Civil Rights.
  • Develops on-line catalog of training programs for the university community.
  • Assists with coordination and engagement in outreach efforts across campus and throughout theUNFcommunity as appropriate.
  • Updating web-based information and resources to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Preparation of annual materials for the budgeting office.
  • Purchases items forthe Office of Title IX and Civil Rights and ensures payment.

Marginal Functions

  • Serves as a resource person to coordinate office activities with other academic/administrative units community organizations and special interest groups.
  • Manages logistical components of Title IX Committee Meetings and maintains meeting minutes.
  • Primary contact for public records requests.
  • Work with parking and transportation to create update and purchase posters and shuttle advertisements.
  • Tabling for university events.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

Ability to record and edit training programs for distribution through a variety of methods.

Assist with annual review ofTitle IX and Civil Rightspolicies and procedures to ensure compliance with current Department of Education standards. Periodic review of Student Code of Conduct to ensureTitle IX and Civil Rightspolicies and procedures align with Code.

Program Direction & Development

Manage the discrimination complaint in-take process for the office including the determination of jurisdiction of complaints. Deliver in-person training programs to the campus community. Manage Respondent Resources programming including respondent education and training with an emphasis on prevention and compliance with Title IX legislation.

Level of Public Contact

Frequent internal contacts across organizational lines at all levels and with superiors staff and students. Occasional external contacts with regard to data gathering and reporting.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Masters degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization ; (b) Bachelors degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

This position has been designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position has been designated as a CSA because it involves significant responsibility for student and campus activities and/or responsibility for campus security. As such any person in this position must report to the University Police Department a crime or an incident that might be a crime that he/she becomes aware of. This position has a reporting requirement because the University believes that responsibility for students campus activities and/or campus security will make the holder of this position someone members of the University community will see as an authority figure and someone to whom they can seek help. A CSA is not expected to investigate or determine whether a criminal incident actually took place. A CSA s responsibility is a duty to report. All positions designated as CSAs are required to complete an online or in - person training session.
