Salary Range: $57844.80-$72300.80 DOQ

The City of OFallon is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Construction Inspector I to join our team! This role is essential to ensuring that construction projects throughout the city meet all codes standards and regulations-helping us build a safe reliable and sustainable infrastructure for our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review construction plans and specifications for accuracy completeness and code compliance.

  • Conduct field inspections on public and private construction projects including water systems sewer lines storm sewers earthwork roads and bridges.

  • Make on-site decisions regarding construction practices safety and quality control.

  • Coordinate and communicate with contractors project managers utility companies and the public.

  • Review contractor invoices shop drawings test results and related documents.

  • Perform inspections for utility excavations final lot grading and driveway permits.

  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with escrow agreements and permit conditions.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections and field measurements.

  • Respond to inquiries and concerns from residents and stakeholders.

  • Assist with snow removal operations and other departmental initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized training in construction or engineering.

  • One (1) year of experience in construction or a related field (a relevant degree may be substituted at the Citys discretion).

  • Certification as an ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I (or ability to obtain within 1 year).

  • Valid Missouri drivers license (or ability to obtain one).

  • Ability to obtain state certifications related to inspections as required.

  • Strong communication problem-solving and recordkeeping skills.

  • Proficient with computers and job-related software.
