Job Description
Description of the role:
The Shop Janitor at Monaco Ford is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our automotive repair shops in Glastonbury Connecticut. As a crucial member of our team you will play a vital role in creating a safe and efficient work environment for our technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize work areas including sweeping mopping and dusting
- Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly
- Assist with the removal of hazardous materials and ensure proper disposal
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishment when needed
- Monitor and report any facility maintenance issues
- Forklift operation
- Organize/rearrange Service parking lot as needed
- Assist with preparation for inclement weather
Requirements:
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting and moving heavy objects
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices
