X0021: Custodian

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities the custodian performs general cleaning duties on a daily weekly and/or monthly basis including disinfecting restrooms kitchen areas trash collection sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting replenishing supplies at designated MFS sites. This position works afternoon/evening hours Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

1. Sweeps mops scrubs and/or vacuums floors
2. Shampoo or steam-cleans carpets and rugs
3. Trash removal
4. Scrubs sanitizes and maintains restroom supplies
5. Dust and cleans furniture walls fixtures and equipment
6. Cleans windows mirrors and partitions
7. Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning according to instructions
8. Follows procedure for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
9. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies
10. Drives agency vehicles required to perform job functions/travel to cleaning areas
11. Notifies Director of Facilities regarding the need for repairs or additions to building operating systems.
12. Attends all available training offered to continue education through MFS and outside agencies.
13. Other duties as assigned.

4. Ability to stand walk and bend for many hours
5. Able to be flexible and address unexpected custodial requests at moments notice
6. Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time
7. Experience with using cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners floor buffers and cleaning solutions
8. Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
10. Ability to lift heavy objects (no more than 50lbs) climb ladders and work at heights
11. Ability to work alone and/or part of a team

4. Must have reliable transportation valid drivers license valid vehicle insurance
