The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (DOC) is eager to welcome a dedicated and conscientious Nurse Aide for State Correctional Institution (SCI) Phoenix. This role offers the opportunity to provide essential care across various areas of the facility. As a Nurse Aide you will provide care to inmates at SCI Phoenixunder the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your duties will include completing basic nursing skills and nursing procedures to maintain optimum inmate health as well as providing quality care and completing documentation as required. In this position you will collect specimens as directed by the Registered Nurse for urine feces and sputum. You can expect to assist inmates with daily living activities and hygiene to ensure basic physical care needs are met. You will also participate in life skills programming by following nursing care plan orders providing care and interventions consistent with inmates needs and documenting on assigned aspects of nursing care plans. Additionally you will participate in emergency situations by performing emergency procedures including CPR and participating in emergency response drills as assigned.
