ISAEP TEACHER
Job Title: ISAEP Instructor
Location: CATEC
Reports to: CATEC Principal
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Summary
The ISAEP instructor is responsible for preparing high school students (ages 16-19) for the GED including curriculum development evaluation of students progress and accurate maintenance of all students records. GED tests require students to demonstrate their ability to apply analyze and evaluate information. Therefore the development of a course of study for each student based on the areas in which the student needs remediation is critical. Classroom instruction should be interactive and incorporate a variety of teaching techniques materials and resources always keeping in mind the ultimate goal of students success on the GED exam.

Education & Experience
A Bachelors degree is required; GED experience preferred. Candidates must prove competency in the subject(s) they teach. A current Virginia teaching license is required.
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work:
Typically the job is performed in an office setting primarily using computer office equipment. Frequent travel to schools and occasional state-wide and regional travel is required. Attendance at meetings both during the school day and beyond is required. There is frequent interaction with principals teachers other central office leadership and the public. Other physical activities are required such as but not limited to bending stooping reaching and grasping. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for monitoring and determining needs; this position is subject to inside environmental conditions noise and hazards. The job generally requires approximately 80% sitting 10% walking and 10% standing.
