Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Plant Manager
Location: Sherman TX
Job Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Plant Manager to support the operations of our Sulphur Springs Plant. In this role you will assist in managing production activities to ensure an efficient safe and cost-effective operation while delivering high-quality service to our retail stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading and supervising plant staff to ensure a productive positive work environment aligned with Goodwills mission and values.

  • Train and develop team members to meet productivity and quality standards.

  • Monitor the flow of donations and goods to ensure proper handling and processing.

  • Support the Plant Manager in addressing employee relations matters including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions in collaboration with HR.

  • Aid in implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance plant efficiency and quality.

  • Conduct monthly inspections of the facility and report on maintenance and repair needs.

  • Represent Goodwill positively within the community through ethical behavior and involvement in local activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in production operations.

  • Knowledge of inventory management production planning and cost control.

  • Strong supervision and leadership skills.

  • Excellent communication organizational and customer service abilities.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • Valid Texas Drivers License required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand walk sit kneel crouch or crawl throughout the shift.

  • Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Visual and auditory acuity necessary to perform job functions safely.
