Job Description
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University seeks a dynamic leader to serve as Senior Director of the Institute for Global Human Flourishing. This position is essential to advancing Baylors mission by promoting interdisciplinary scholarship innovation and transformative impact. The Senior Director will lead the development operations and expansion of the Institute fostering its growth as a global leader in human flourishing initiatives. Additionally the role will drive the integration of human flourishing across Baylor University by leveraging scalable methodologies and tools developed in the Applied Innovation Laboratory. The successful candidate will cultivate partnerships oversee strategic initiatives and ensure the Institutes work aligns with Baylors vision to address global challenges and inspire positive change.
This is a hybrid position with frequent trips to campus.
A Bachelors degree and ten years of relevant work experience is required. A Masters degree is preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Direct Institute Operations
- Lead the development and establishment of the organization structure for the Institute including key roles job descriptions reporting relationships collaboration expectations and team norms
- Lead team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of efforts regular communication and collaboration and progress toward achieving goals and performance metrics.
- Bring resources and remove barriers for the Institutes team
- Support directives from the Executive Director of the Institute of Global Human Flourishing
- Provide updates on status and issues to the Executive Director of the Global Human Flourishing Institute
Design and Implement Human Flourishing Plan for Baylor University
- Design and develop methodology and timeline for implementing Human Flourishing at Baylor University. Scope includes students faculty staff administration and alumni
- Define roles and lead team to support Human Flourishing integration at Baylor
- Collaborate with Deans and key stakeholders to gain implementation pathways and adoption
- Regularly report on progress to plan to the Executive Director of the Global Human Flourishing Institute and any other key stakeholders
- Lead continuous improvement to achieve defined metrics related to institutional goals
Partner with Deans and Key Stakeholders to Implement Human Flourishing
- Build and maintain productive working relationship with all Deans other leaders and key stakeholders
- Meet regularly with Deans and key stakeholders to gather input and counsel and to disseminate updates
- Respond to questions or concerns from Deans and key stakeholders
- Represent the views of the Deans and key stakeholders when providing updates to the Executive Director of the Global Human Flourishing Institute or others in administration
Develop Implementation Methodology Processes and Tools
- Partner with the Applied Innovation Laboratory leadership to help create methodology tools and deliverables for implementing Human Flourishing at Baylor and to be leveraged by all entities endeavoring in Human Flourishing within academics non-profits churches governmental entities and in business
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard including their Impact Team
- Collect feedback from Implementation Pilots and incorporate learnings into methodology processes and tools
- Work with 3rd party partners to create and deploy tools (e.g. website survey reporting activation tool)
Other
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
