The Cook prepares cooks and bakes the food that is served for the cafe tray line and dining room following the chefs exact specifications. Working under general supervision this role also complies with all applicable sanitation health and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures in order to ensure a sanitary food preparation environment.
Responsibilities
Calculates the necessary quantities of recipe ingredients in order to ensure that production is correct and meets basic needs and ensure that the food is attractively arranged on the plates. Follows established procedures for the storage of food supplies and equipment in order to comply with sanitation and safety standards. Follows standard recipes and utilizes specified preparation techniques so as to comply with diet requirements and when needed provide a compliant food substitution where necessary. Operates and maintains equipment in accordance with the department or manufacturers specifications so that no damage or excessive wear and tear occurs due to a failure to comply. Helps offer appropriate feedback on recipes or techniques as needed in order to identify ways to improve their taste. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent experience
