USALCO Modesto Plant LLC is a major unit within the manufacturing network of a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment pulp and paper manufacturing the making of catalysts for oil refining the housing market and other sectors. The right individual will have a can-do attitude the ability to be part of a team while operating independently and consistently performs to very high standards.
JOB SUMMARY:
The person in this role is responsible for coordinating and executing the maintenance activities for the Modesto Site while assuring compliance is achieved in all company associated policies. The position requires a motivated detail oriented and results driven team player who:
- Incorporates safety and quality into every decision while performing day-to-day activities.
- Can efficiently maintain chemical process equipment to meet manufacturing requirements and achieve maximum productivity without compromising safety or quality.
- Will actively seek out opportunities for process/mechanical improvement and take full responsibility for collaborating with management and peers to implement approved changes in a timely manner.
- Effectively utilize CMMS software to electronically manage and guide maintenance activities from work order creation work order completion spare parts inventory and asset management.
The employee in this position will be a positive-natured task-oriented individual with equipment maintenance experience and significant mechanical aptitude. This person must be personally and professionally motivated to work constructively with team members at all levels within the company to execute job responsibilities with a sense of urgency and to support plant and business initiatives as well as consistently strive to increase the safety quality and productivity of the site. The individual in this role must be able to work independently or with others in the plant to meet organizational goals. Safety Quality and Productivity are paramount concerns.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBITIES:
- Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for the job. May have to shave facial hair to wear full face respirator.
- The ability to effectively maintain support and troubleshoot the following systems and equipment mechanical systems electrical systems hydraulic systems.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license upon being hired.
- Operate various tools to fabricate misc. items as needed.
- Use the computerized CMMS system for work order documentation.
- Assist in management of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Manage plant parts supply and order a necessary to ensure critical spare parts and routine parts are to stock to reduce plant downtime.
- Perform housekeeping responsibilities.
- Work with hand and power tools on equipment in the field or on a work bench.
- Operate various pieces of mobile equipment such as Forklift Front End Loader Manlift Mini-Excavator etc.
- Perform scheduled field Preventative Maintenance checks on equipment.
- Must be able to work overtime and rotating Fri-Sunday & Fri-Monday 6am-6pm as well as On-Call Duty when needed.
- Use company 5S program to improve plant maintenance and plant safety programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Requires organizational and planning skills to effectively complete assignments.
- Must be dependable flexible and able to respond on short notice to satisfy requirements of customers.
- Requires good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong Analytical and Mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to communicate with others clearly and succinctly both verbally and in written form.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
- Maintenance Software .
- Chemical-preferred Oil and Gas Industry environment.
- Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience and/or successful completion of a technical/mechanical diploma program and/or mechanical certifications.
- Ability to effectively work with Microsoft Office Applications Word Excel and Outlook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Ability to:
- Routinely lift 50 to 75 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Routinely stand 60 to 70% of shift.
- Routinely traverse the site to various buildings by foot.
- Routinely have to travers ladders catwalks and close quarters.
- Work at elevated platforms as high as 150 without hesitation or fear.
- Work inside confined spaces.
