Job Description

Position Summary:

The Head Womens Rowing Coach is responsible for all aspects of the University of Dayton Division I program. This includes recruiting training and retaining quality student-athletes. Recruiting is a balance of off and on campus efforts. This position instructs student-athletes for purposes of academic social development compliance requirements and safety and health considerations. The head coach is responsible for the maintenance of all rowing facilities and equipment including the erg room the boathouse boats trailer etc. and must be knowledgeable and committed to proper on and off the water safety techniques. The coach is also responsible for hiring training and effective utilization of an intern assistant coach managing the budget ordering gear and fundraising. They will also need to work effectively with academic performance and health support staff. UD Athletics employees are expected to comply with all laws policies rules and regulations governing the University the NCAA and the Atlantic 10.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree.
- Proven record of evaluating retaining and developing rowers.
- Ability to teach develop and retain quality student-athletes.
- Ability to operate an outboard motor safety launch.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in practice organization and team development.
- Valid state issued drivers licen

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

- Masters degree.
- Experience recruiting student-athletes.
- Experience coaching collegiate or other high-level rowers.
- Former student-athlete.
- Ability (or be willing to learn) to drive a truck while towing the boat trailer.
- Experience taking care of rowing facilities and equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to maintain effective working relationships with administration support staff and students.
