Job Description
Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Elizabethtown NC (Onsite)
Department: Operations
Reports To: Director Operations
Position Summary:
Specialty Products is looking for a seasoned manufacturing professional to oversee operations for one of our diverse product lines. This role is a second-level management position supervising production supervisors and assemblers. Our vertically integrated high-mix facility offers a range of operational challenges and experiences from metal fabrication and injection molding to light assembly providing ample opportunities for career growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the areas daily operations focusing on safety quality delivery productivity and inventory.
Collaborate on Forecasting: Work with marketing sales and customer support teams to produce monthly business forecasts by product family.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean tools from the Fortive Business System (FBS) to enhance quality on-time delivery productivity and inventory.
Budget Management: Operate within approved budget limits.
Develop Talent: Mentor and develop associates to meet future business needs.
Engage Associates: Foster positive relationships and continuous improvement in the work environment.
Lead New Product Start-Ups: Oversee the production start-up phase for new product introductions.
Financial Communication: Liaise with finance to compare actual performance against the budget.
Ensure Compliance: Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA (US) EPA (US) and other relevant environmental regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering Business or related field
Experience: 5-8 years experience managaing manufacturing teams
Experience in a metric driven organization focusing on safety quality delivery productivity and inventory.
Prove track record in a continuous improvement environment
