Job Title: Systems Administrator III
Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group Soft-Pak

Reports to: DevOps Lead Engineer 3rd Eye

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Systems Administrator with strong expertise in IBM i Series (AS/400) to join our DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration maintenance and support of IBM i environments ensuring high availability performance and security of mission-critical systems that power our enterprise applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
- Administer configure and maintain IBM i (AS/400 iSeries) systems and related infrastructure.
- Perform system upgrades PTF installations backups and disaster recovery planning/testing.
- Monitor system performance troubleshoot issues and tune for optimal performance.
- Implement and manage user profiles security policies and authority levels.
- Manage high availability solutions job scheduling and system automation.
- Ensure compliance with internal security standards and industry best practices.
- Support application development teams with environment setups and technical troubleshooting.
- Document system configurations procedures and operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integrations and IT projects.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or equivalent experience is required.
- 5 years of experience in IBM i Series (AS/400) system administration.
- Proficient in CL programming IBM Navigator for i and system utilities.
- Experience with BRMS HMC PowerHA and other IBM i tools.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking VPN firewalls and security protocols on IBM i.
- Strong understanding of system monitoring performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Solid knowledge of backup and disaster recovery practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting analytical and communication skills.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux administration.

Applies a sense of urgency to resolve problems or creates opportunities that will increase productivity and create value. Shares best practices with other employees across the business.
