Position Summary

The Senior Director of Development reports to the Executive Director of Operations and is responsible for fundraising as a generalist on behalf of the university in support of key priorities.

The role will be assigned to a Territory based on prospect population coverage needs with travel expectations of 30% - 35% of the time.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Focus on acquisition retention and reacquisition of prospects ($250000) in the assigned region with a primary focus on unrestricted and cultivate donors with the goal of increasing the donors support to major gift levels.
  • Work closely with all levels of development officers in the division to ensure short and long-term fundraising success. Work closely with subject matter experts in the Philanthropic Strategy Vertical to meet the fundraising priorities of the Danforth Campus schools programs university priorities university initiatives and Principal Gifts team to identify cultivate solicit close and steward principal gift prospects.
  • Is assigned to at least one MSA in the division with travel expectations of 30% - 35% of time.
  • Help to create and foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork that celebrates outcomes builds individual and team capacity and ensure that WashU University Advancement is a preferred workplace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including ones qualifications and performance equity with others in the department market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
