POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for someone to join our People Team in the role of Director People. This position is primarily in the Atlanta office but remote as schedules allow. This People leader will be a key partner to the business as we are rapidly growing. This role will play a critical role in building programs processes and people practices. This role will be a strategic partner to leaders a promoter of our culture and values and innovative partner for our people decisions in a transparent approach. This person will help navigate complex challenges and must be solution oriented with the ability to work across multiple teams. As an organization we will be evaluating enhancing and implementing new processes and practices continuously making improvements to the overall culture and team member experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead a team representing the full scope of People.
- Build relationships with leaders and team members to offer thought leadership people strategy and execution in our fast paced and growing business.
- Consult and execute a comprehensive people plan include providing strategic goals and action plans related to career pathing performance management coaching data and analysis compensation programs and rewards learning and development organizational design leadership development and team member matters
- Partner with our leaders to forecast staffing growth plans track source hire to ensure teams are appropriately staffed to meet growth demands
- Solve problems and address root causes of issues. Assess design and quickly implement solutions to related people issues.
- Manage and resolve complex team issues (employee relations) including experience with conducting effective thorough and objective investigations
- Document key People processes and procedures to ensure consistency throughout the organization.
- Creates space in the organization for development of individuals on the People team through meaningful assignments development and coaching.
- Drives and innovates programs and initiatives to cultivate our culture throughout the organization
- Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions programs and policies
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of our teams reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to people managers (e.g. coaching counseling career development disciplinary actions)
- Works closely with leadership and team members to improve work relationships build morale and increase productivity and retention
- Promotes diversity & inclusion collaboration fairness high-performance innovation and integrity
- Identifies training needs for team members and individual executive coaching needs
- Works in conjunction with our shared services platform to administer leaves process payroll manage incident reporting claims management and benefits administration.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
- Must be proficient in MS Word Excel Powerpoint Outlook and the internet.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
- Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions and percentages.
- Prefer PHR SPHR or equivalent certification in Human Resources.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Travel requirement is 20-30% with overnights included.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in business or related area
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources including employee relations recruitment training and development compensation and benefits programs as well as application of legal and government compliance guidelines
- Minimum 5 years team leadership with a proven track record for developing people processes and procedures.
- Prior experience in a multi-family owner/operator preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in direct compensation planning with a business unit
- Strong leadership and people management skills
Base Compensation Range:
$160000.00 To $190000.00. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Companys base compensation range for this position. Actual base compensation range may vary based on various factors including but not limited to location and experience.
Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
