You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position supports the DFFM and the Arizona fire service on various issues; Communication Administration Purchasing Training data collection reporting and analyses. This position is directly responsible for state program management of the National Fire Incident Reporting System (Arizona NFIRS) transitioning later in 2025 into the National Emergency Reporting Incidents System (NERIS) throughout the state. This position will be responsible for the transition statewide into the NERIS to include training and education of local fire departments to meet reporting requirements.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the departments business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administers the 5.0 NFIRS software for reporting fire departments (over 130 fire departments) to include training and education of local fire departments to meet reporting requirements and validation of quality of reporting and assists local fire departments with the third-party vendor NFIRS reporting side of software.
Initiates regular contact (recruitment) of non-participating fire departments creates new and monitors existing user accounts passwords assists with login and active status. Designs & prepares materials for release regarding seasonal situations and routine functions.
Attend OSFM meetings as requested develops reports for division performance measures and expected outcomes for budget submittal and other specialized reports. Maintain documentation and tracking for all budget allocations and discretionary expenditures for the OSFM. Prepare all Purchase Order requests Invoicing and Payment additionally documentation and tracking all P Card purchases for the OSFM. Assist as requested with OSFM Policies Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Fire manuals. Manage OFSM website.
Represent OSFM at AZ Burn Educators Association meetings. Participation in OSFM training maintains Training and Certification records for all OSFM staff members updating files (CEUs Certifications) upon approval process seminar and training class attendance request provide directions as needed for travel and lodging if applicable. Circulation of information pertaining to upcoming training opportunities both locally and nationally.
Active participation and coordination in DFFM-OSFMs Fire Prevention Education initiatives by providing fire Safety Pamphlets appearances of Sparky Coloring Books etc. supplies for the OFSM for Public Education Events and annual National Fire Prevention Week in October of each year.
Drive on State business.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:
Fire department operations and administration best practices types of fire departments and services including public safety education fire suppression technical rescue fire investigation fire inspections fire code enforcement emergency planning and emergency medical services
Computers and computer data systems and standard office computer applications
Microsoft Office/Google Suite products and other relevant technologies

Written and verbal personal and interpersonal skills used in formal and informal modes of presentation to the public specific groups the fire service etc.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelors degree in a field that included coursework on developing curriculum instruction project management or equivalent job experience.
A valid Arizona Drivers License.
Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current valid class-appropriate drivers license complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary drivers license record checks. The license must be current unexpired and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to drivers license record checks must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R.11).

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Participation is a mandatory condition of employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria as defined in statute.
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
The current contribution rate is 12.29%
