Job Description

Overview

Performs various tasks necessary to operate forklift in the assigned department to keep operators supplied with needed materials and removes their finished products. This position also includes computer use to generate production orders and production tags.

Responsibilities

  • Basic maintenance of forklift to include safety inspection report.
  • Safe transportation of products and supplies to assigned areas.
  • Packaging of product where required.
  • Quality inspection of product where required.
  • Management if inventory and reporting if inventory levels.
  • Set-up workstations as assigned by supervisor or lead.
  • Break bands on materials and store in proper locations where required.
  • Generate production records and product tags using computer.
  • Assist lead or supervisor in direction of work as assigned.
  • Identification of product through tagging and management of product tags.
  • Record material usage where assigned.
  • May be required to run the Tran Collector.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job.
  • Formal education is not required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred but not required for consideration.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to become licensed forklift operator.
  • Ability to communicate inventory information to supervisor/lead.
  • Ability to read product tags.
  • Ability to use computers Specific software will be taught on job.
  • Ability to visually verify product or components to prevent mixing of products.
  • Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs.
  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is required to stand and use hands to grasp handle or feel.
  • Employee may on occasion be required to speak hear bend stood kneel crouch and walk on wet surfaces.
  • The employee must frequently lift move and/or drag/push more than 40 pounds.
  • Employee may also be requested to extended shift work overtime and /or weekends.
  • Employee will work with solvents oils and grease daily (gloves are required to protect hands and fingers)
  • Employee must be willing and able to abide by all safety policies.
  • Duties are performed primarily at a manufacturing setting and may expose employee to laud noise levels extreme temperatures chemical and fumes and moving mechanical parts.
  • Work is completed in a non-climate-controlled plant environment and employee will have frequent interaction with managers and other employees.
  • Standard hazards within a manufacturing plant where safety precautions and personal protective equipment must be maintained all the time.
