Job Duties
Credentialing and record keeping for THD Medical Staff functions:
Monitors an efficient and compliant credentialing process for physicians on the medical staff and allied health practitioners.
Follows the system-wide credentialing process and supervises the auditing of the Dallas facility on the centralized credentialing database.
Responsible for all decisions on difficult privileging issues by the credentialing coordinators and advising the Chair Credentialing Committee and all Dept Chairs Officers and VPMA.
Responsible for completeness and maintenance of accurate credentials files.
Responsible for timely notification to all applicants of the granting change restriction or revocation of privileges.
Provides administrative support to committee and department chairs for meeting to include announcements agenda minuting and timely follow-up and dissemination of information as required.
Maintains a permanent record of all medical staff business including communications and information that is sent to medical staff members for information feedback or vote.
Administrative Support to Physician Leaders:
Provides a formal orientation annually for new department chairs and elected officers.
Provides a formal orientation monthly for new appointees to the medical staff.
Responds timely and appropriately to inquiries from physician leaders.
Uses knowledge and experience with medical staff organization and processes to make recommendations to physician leaders.
Assists with gathering benchmark information relevant to issues facing medical staff leaders.
Assists with the development of medical staff policies bylaws rules and regulations in conjunction with appropriate medical staff leaders.
Administrative Management for the Medical Staff Office:
Provides direct supervision of the employees who work in the Medical Staff Office.
Outlines expectations and measures performance on an ongoing basis.
Assesses educational needs and supports employees with an individualized development plan.
Monitors equity in assignment and compensation.
Develops and monitors the budget plan for the Medical Staff Office.
Approves expenditures within the level of authority.
Explains unbudgeted expenses and justifies expenditures prior to obligation.
Monitors the collection of application fees and dues for the Medical Staff.
Promotes a quality improvement approach to all activities of the Medical Staff Office.
Serves on the Leadership Council at THD representing the Medical Staff Office.
Serves as the primary contact person for the other department directors concerning Medical Staff issues.
Composes and coordinates distribution of key communication messages to the Medical Staff and targeted Medical Staff audience.
Leadership and coordination of the THR Eastside hospitals setting up regular meetings with THR Westside on the credentialing database and process.
