Were looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our team! In this role youll be responsible for designing developing maintaining and improving software applications. Your day-to-day will include coding debugging testing and troubleshooting as part of the full application development lifecycle.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Researches designs implements and maintains software applications based on user and business requirements.
Writes clean efficient and well-documented code; performs unit and integration testing to ensure quality and reliability.
Participates in Agile development processes including sprint planning daily stand-ups and retrospectives; adapts quickly to changing priorities and evolving requirements.
Collaborates effectively with team members and stakeholders maintaining a positive solution-oriented mindset.
Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure application availability and performance
Continuously develops technical skills and stays current with industry trends tools and best practices.
-This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates to work remotely for part of the week while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.

Education:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
Experience:
3 years of experience in software development using Java
12 years of experience integrating or leveraging AI tools within the software development lifecycle (e.g. code generation testing optimization or automation)
Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework
Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MSSQL
Competencies Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
Proficiency in Java/JEE including Spring and Hibernate
Familiarity with a variety of databases including SQL Server PostgreSQL and MySQL
Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and/or Microservices
Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
Logical analytical and creative approach to problem-solving
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated respect collaboration and pride in ownership
Adaptability to change and evolving requirements
Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value
**Pay Range for this position is - $90000-$105000
