Job Description
Are you a contract Electrical Design Engineer looking to apply your expertise to diverse technically challenging projects Do you thrive in a collaborative environment where your contributions are valued and your insight helps shape innovative solutions
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Contractor) to support our project team at ESCO Maritime Solutions based in Rugeley Staffordshire. You will play a key role in producing bespoke electrical designs that underpin the development of complex equipment for harsh and demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop advanced electrical schematics and control systems
Analyse verify and optimise electrical designs to ensure performance reliability and compliance
Generate technical requirements and specifications for electrical systems
Capture document and maintain electrical schematics to a high standard
Select suitable cables and protective devices considering safety function and cost
Provide technical input on component selection and system configuration
Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering and project teams
Participate in internal and customer-facing meetings where required
Maintain comprehensive documentation in line with ESCOs engineering procedures
Required Qualifications and Skills:
HNC or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Proven experience in electrical design and system specification
Good working knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools
Experience in schematic capture and reviewing electrical drawings
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
A flexible solutions-oriented engineering approach
Desirable:
Experience in the design of electrical systems for defence or industrial applications
Familiarity with Zuken E3
Knowledge of electronics control systems or signal processing
