We are seeking an experienced Gameplay Engineer to help craft innovative ARPG experiences within one of Blizzards most legendary franchises Diablo. In this role you will design and implement core gameplay systems that bring dungeons events and activities to life. From early conceptual development through iteration and final polish you will work hands-on alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless gameplay mechanics and engaging player interactions.
This role offers a flexible hybrid work week with a mix of remote and on-site days. While hybrid is the standard arrangement youre also welcome to work on-site full-time if you prefer. Our primary studio locations are in Albany NY and Irvine CA.
Responsibilities:
Design implement improve and maintain various gameplay systems for Diablo
Act as a collaborative ambassador of engineering to the rest of the team.
Work closely with game designers programmers and artists to ensure great player experience
Champion Blizzard Entertainments core values especially Gameplay First
Minimum Requirements:
5 years of game programming experience and having worked on or shipped at least 1 AAA title
Proficient in C / C
Experience in several of the following areas: quests and narrative content systems user interface player abilities combat AI or other game systems.
Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
Self-motivation and willingness to participate in many areas of game development
Bonus:
In-depth familiarity with the Diablo franchise and other Blizzard Entertainment products
Experience playing and/or developing RPGs ARPGS and/or MMORPGS
Experience working with client / server game systems
Experience crafting and supporting tools used in game development
Experience with C#

You can learn more by visiting the U.S. the standard base pay range for this role is $37.26 - $68.93 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately your specific range and offer will be based on several factors including relevant experience performance and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this roles range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates new hire compensation is negotiable.
