Job Description

Packaging Engineer

Full-time Operations Location Olathe KS 66022

Design and implement innovative packaging solutions to ensure safe efficient product transport while supporting sustainability goals. Source packaging materials that meet organizational specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to enhance packaging performance drive cost savings and improve supply chain efficiency. YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Packaging Engineer you will lead and support packaging initiatives that align with business goals and sustainability standards. This will involve:

  • Collaborating with packaging suppliers and Indirect Procurement to source materials and grow a reliable diverse supplier base.

  • Evaluating new suppliers and partnering with the SRM team to resolve performance or compliance issues.

  • Selecting and testing packaging materials to meet product sustainability and regulatory requirements.

  • Supporting the Operations team by developing and maintaining accurate packaging instructions.

  • Conducting cost analyses and developing tender specifications to identify value-driven long-term packaging solutions.

  • Working with global teams to standardize and streamline packaging solutions.

  • Managing documentation and reporting of packaging specifications and testing outcomes for internal stakeholders.

  • Supporting internal teams (Marketing Product Development Operations) by providing technical guidance and solving packaging challenges.

  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvements in packaging processes including eco-friendly and waste-reduction practices.

  • Monitoring market trends packaging innovations and industry standards to inform business strategy and decision-making.

  • Actively pursuing professional development through training conferences and industry engagement to stay current with packaging technologies and best practices.

HOW TO SUCCEED / YOUR PROFILE

Were looking for someone who can come up with simple solutions to complex problems. To join us you need:

  • Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • 2 years experience in packaging development preferably in an international or regulated environment.

  • Familiarity with ASTM ISTA EU regulations and sustainable packaging trends (preferred)

  • Lean principles experience is highly desirable.

  • Must be eligible for international travel (passport required).
