We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as Temporary Materials Testing Intern in Poestenkill NY.
The primary duties of this position include assisting the Gleeble Test Engineer with conducting material testing using the Gleeble system for internal and external customers.
Here are some of the responsibilities of the position:
- Assist with Gleeble testing using DSI s internal Gleeble systems
- Work with DSI s Gleeble Test Engineer Chief Metallurgist and technical staff to analyze data and document test results
- Follow testing procedures with meticulous attention to detail
- Adhere to all safety procedures and requirements
- Ensure that test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and remain in calibration
- Assist with maintaining test equipment including cleaning the laboratory and equipment performing preventive maintenance and calibrations as needed
- Develop expertise on the operation of Gleeble systems and provide support to the Service Engineering and Production teams to aid in the operation and inspection of new systems
- Demonstrate a positive proactive and motivated attitude to work quality and safety
- Assist with the language translation of reports documentation and marketing materials

Requirements :
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following:
- Student in good standing in a STEM related discipline at an accredited school
- Experience with scientific testing and research design of experiments preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with testing equipment
- Knowledge and familiarity with basic scientific concepts
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and testing specifications
