Job Description
About the Role:
Were seeking a hands-on Diamond Turning Technician to join our optics production team. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail mechanical aptitude and a desire to grow within a high-precision manufacturing environment. Youll be working with advanced diamond turning and polishing equipment to produce complex optical components used in cutting-edge applications.
What You ll Do:
- Set up and operate diamond turning and polishing machines for high-precision optical parts
- Monitor production runs and make machine adjustments to maintain tight tolerances
- Handle vacuum chuck mounting multi-tool setups and machine calibration
- Inspect components using specialized metrology tools and ensure quality standards are met
- Clean package and prepare components for shipment
- Maintain accurate records of job progress inspection results and labor time
- Keep equipment and workspace clean and organized
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) with precision
What We re Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in optics or machining is a plus
- Prior experience with optical fabrication or diamond turning preferred (but not required training provided)
- Comfort working with mechanical systems and computer-based controls
- Strong work ethic reliability and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and stand for long periods
- A team player with excellent communication skills
