We are a small stable manufacturing company founded over 20 years ago with a new patent positioning us for solid growth. We re seeking a Controller with a passion for manufacturing innovation and scaling operations to join our established leadership team. This newly created role will report directly to the CEO and play a key part in driving our growth by overseeing financial operations analyzing manufacturing costs and supporting strategic decision-making.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly quarterly and year-end financial closes ensuring timely and accurate accounting records through analytical review of financial results.
- Manage daily accounting and financial operations including general ledger maintenance payroll processing accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with all functional areas to analyze manufacturing costs and variances providing detailed insights into Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
- Own the COGS section of the annual budget delivering monthly reports on budget vs. actual results and trend analysis.
- Develop actionable plans for management based on financial analysis to support growth objectives.
- Propose and implement improvements to procedures systems and processes to strengthen internal controls and support scalability.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide strategic decisions identifying trends risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data as the company grows.
- Prepare monthly journal entries for payroll accruals prepaid expenses inventory and accounts receivable.
- Oversee company benefits insurance and banking relationships.
- Review contract documents to ensure accuracy proper accounting coding and tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in accounting Business Finance or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a focus on the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite QuickBooks and advanced Excel.
- Strong curiosity sense of humor and exceptional critical thinking skills.
- Self-directed professional with confidence and a desire to lead a high-performing team.
- Comfortable partnering with leadership on high-level strategy strategic planning and growth initiatives.
