Job Summary:

Current address 46 Sinclair Blvd Brantford ON N3S 7Y1 Canada

We are moving to 100 Newman St Ingersoll ON N5C 3J8 Canada

The target start date in Ingersoll is October 1 2025 with 4-6 weeks of training in Brantford. 

Pay Range - CA$38-$40/HR

Replacement Position

Shift Hours: Mon through Thurs (7:00 am to 5:30 pm)

Pay is weekly every Friday.

To support the companys business goals and objectives you will perform various tasks related to installing troubleshooting repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment. This work follows safety standards and predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. You will proactively seek opportunities for improvement to enhance overall company performance ensuring maximum efficiency and cost reduction. Daily maintenance activities should align with maintenance and operational strategies to increase company profits. Additionally you will perform production support tasks that adhere to production schedules quality standards and project specifications. Areas of expertise required for this role include electrical work hydraulics welding and fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently repairs machinery through careful planning and exceptional attention to detail ensuring that the machinery operates more efficiently and reliably after repairs.
  • Proactively assesses all machinery to identify repair needs before any breakdowns occur.
  • Provides experienced guidance during the troubleshooting process for repairs.
  • Continuously evaluates the most significant opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs when deciding whether to repair machinery or purchase new equipment.
  • Collaborates with all operations and warehouse areas to prioritize the best course of action.
  • Regularly assesses repair tools and equipment to maintain excellent working conditions for optimal performance.
  • Proactively performs maintenance procedures to ensure machinery operates efficiently and minimizes the risk of failure.
  • Effectively works and coordinates with all employees including Engineering Purchasing and Production.
  • Works with external vendors and contractors for maintenance repair replacement and testing of equipment and systems in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
  • This position involves close collaboration with other maintenance team members where training and coaching of less experienced personnel are essential.
  • Continuously reviews existing preventative maintenance processes and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides expert technical support.

Qualifications :

Skills & Knowledge

  • Operate forklifts when required and repair and upgrade a wide range of material handling equipment including forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety guidelines including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities using hand and power tools electric meters and material handling equipment as needed or instructed.
  • Must have organizational computer and leadership skills as this position will head up key special projects.
  • Must be able to stand walk climb stairs; use hands to grasp finger or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel or crouch; talk; hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to lift heavy objects to 75 pounds with the assistance of a dolly and another employee.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Specific skills include basic computer skills good coaching and feedback skills and excellent communication skills (listening verbal and written). 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma required 2 years of college preferred
  • 6 years of maintenance experience
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical skills including but not limited to pneumatic hydraulic welding and fabrication for troubleshooting and repair of production machines and vehicles as well as maintenance of equipment for use in the facility and the facility itself. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of metal fabrication equipment is required.
