Under general direction of the IS Project Director this position is responsible for supporting the Adult Probation Department (APD) in requirements development implementation and roll-out of APDs Case Management System (CMS) Liability and Risk Management (LRM) and Electronic Document Management (EDM) systems.
MAJOR IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
According to Civil Service Commission Rule 109 the duties specified below are representative of the range of duties assigned to this job code/class and are not intended to be an inclusive list.
Essential functions include: Perform development data reports requirements development setup and configuration of APDs CMS. and LRM system; support development implementation and maintenance of APDs EDM system; perform installation configuration testing and debug the APDs CMS LRM and EDM and provide analysis and technical support for these systems; troubleshoot APDs systems problems to find solutions; document APDs business processes; create flow charts and data diagrams using Visio and write technical and user documentation; provide technical level expertise and support required for successful implementation of APDs CMS LRM and EDM; support and continuous development; identify opportunities for operational improvements of APDs existing systems; determine and analyze operating characteristics and requirements; develop or update coding routines; develop data mapping for the data migration to APDs CMS and assist in systems data migration process; create test plan provide migration support to users and resolve problems for implantation of APDs CMS LRM and EDM; prepare and maintain technical and user instructions and provide training on new procedures for APDs CMS LRM and EDM; monitor and schedule production jobs; review status of submitted jobs; analyze and resolve problems as necessary and/or resubmit jobs; provide technical assistance for APD hardware and/or software to ensure system availability and timely and accurate reporting; document issues and possible solutions/recovery procedures; determining requirements for the development and/or enhancement of APDs CMS LRM and EDM systems; participate in planning implementing and maintaining upgrades updates and fixes for APDs CMS LRM and EDM systems and their related components without negative impact to the overall availability and reliability of the enterprise systems/networks; document procedures and troubleshooting techniques related to systems/networks software and hardware; develop and review documentation prior to general distribution.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications
These minimum qualifications establish the education training experience special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. Please note additional qualifications (i.e. special conditions) may apply to a particular position and will be stated on the exam/job announcement.
Education:
An associates degree in computer science or closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units i.e. at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in computer science or a closely-related field.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in application or software development or programming.
Special Condition:
The special conditions associated with the position(s) to be filled may differ from the standard minimum qualifications associated with this class code.
Twelve months experience with TSE196-COMPAS 8.X Suite.
Substitution:
Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in computer science or a closely related field.

Selection Procedures:
After application submission candidates deemed qualified must complete all subsequent steps to advance in this selection process which includes the following:
Minimum Qualification Supplemental Questionnaire (MQSQ): (Weight: Qualifying) Candidates will be required to complete a MQSQ as part of the employment application at a later time. This MQSQ is designed to obtain specific information regarding an applicants experience in relation to the Minimum Qualifications (MQ) for this position. The MQSQ will be used to evaluate if the applicant possesses the required minimum qualifications.
Supplemental Questionnaire Evaluation (Weight:100%):
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be sent a Supplemental Questionnaire via electronic mail after the closing of this filing period. The Supplemental Questionnaire is designed to measure the knowledge skills and/or abilities in job-related areas required for the position. Applicants will be given a deadline to return the Supplemental Questionnaire. Those who do not respond by the established deadline will not be eligible to continue in the examination process and will not be added to eligibility list resulting from this process. All applicants responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire are subject to verification.
A passing score must be achieved on the Supplemental Questionnaire Examination in order to continue in the selection process and be placed on the eligible list. Candidates will be placed on the eligible list in rank order according to their final score. Candidate scores on this examination may also be applied to other announcements involving other job titles when directed by the Human Resources Director.
The department may administer additional position-specific selection procedures to make final hiring decisions.
Eligible List/Score Report: A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established so applicants can view the ranks final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information including names of applicants on the eligible list shall not be made public unless required by law. However an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection upon request once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g. as a result of appeals) as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be of six (6) months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
Certification: The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be Rule of Seven. The hiring department may administer additional position-specific selection procedures prior to making final hiring decisions.
