Job Description Summary
Provide support to the Principal Investigator to conduct lab experiments including cell culture molecular biology techniques microscopy general laboratory maintenance and preparing chemical reagents and/or buffers. This is a non-exempt staff position scheduled to work up to 29 hours per week for a duration of one (1) year based on available funding.
Responsibilities
Under the PI (Principal Investigtors) supervision: Cell culture basic biochemical and molecular assays such as ELISA RT- PCR immunoblotting and microscopy Maintenance of the laboratorys cell culture facility and general lab maintenance including preparing buffer and media solutions and general cleanup Record the data in a lab notebook and plot the data Be able to work individually and with a scientific team Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree plus experience in working on cell culture molecular or biochemical assays. Knowledge of research and experimental methods in cell and molecular biology. Ability to operate laboratory equipment and maintain a safe working environment. Ability to conduct experiments in a timely manner and accurately record data.
