Job Description
Seminole Legacy Golf Club is looking for a highly motivated passionate assistant golf course superintendent. SLCC is in Tallahassee Florida and home of the Florida State Mens and Womens Golf teams who are consistently ranked in the Top 10 Nationally. Seminole Legacy was just recently ranked in the Top 20 courses in the State of Florida.
In 2019 SLGC was fully renovated by Nicklaus Design with re-grassing of all surfaces which included new greens Tiff-Tuff tees fairways and approaches and 65 acres of Pensacola Bahia that is kept as a native area throughout the year. Renovation also included brand new irrigation system and all bunkers lined with Capillary Concrete. Starting next fall and into the summer of 2025 SLGC will undergo a smaller renovation that will include new bunker sand redesign and rebuild of two greens a few new tees and all collar/approach tie-in to greens. A new maintenance shop is heading to design phase and will begin construction late fall.
With the recent renovation in 2019 and the upcoming changes in 2025 will reflect how Florida State University provides the necessary resources for their student athletes to be successful. These tools that have been provided have been center stage nationally with the mens team playing for the National Championship for the past two years and one member of the womens team was just recently crowned as the Augusta Womens Amateur Champion.
The assistant superintendent candidate must have a whatever it takes mentality and should be very detailed oriented. Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Understands that high expectations cant be met in a 40-hour work week
- Ability to manage 25-30 employees
- Mixing and calculations for fertilizer and pesticide applications
- Experience with operating and calibrating sprayers
- Irrigation experience
- Renovation experience
- Assist in keeping detailed records of fertilizer and chemical applications
- Must be willing to volunteer 1-2 times/year at a PGA TOUR event
- Assist Superintendent with managing budgets.
