***Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire positions which include administrative professional and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents (BOR) and Civil Service employees (i.e. paid holidays/leave). Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Full Time/Part Time: Part-time (no more than 19 hrs/week)

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary


Other Conditions: Casual Hire temporary appointment is expected to begin July 2 2026 or soon thereafter.


Duties:

The UH Hilo Pharmacy and Pharmacist support student academic engagement and success. For many common health concerns on campus Pharmacy services are an effective use of resources and supports student retention.


  1. Dispense medications according to Hawaii State law.
  2. Dispense needed medications to our students who are covered by the Title X grant for family planning services those who do not have insurance or transportation and /or funds to access medications in a timely manner
  3. Maintain inventory and recordkeeping for medications. Work with Medical services to order medications
  4. Maintain 340 B status and compliance.
  5. Educate patients on the use risks benefits side effects of medications dispensed.
  6. Maintain HIPPA compliance according to Hawaii State and Federal laws.
  7. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelors degree in Pharmacy Practice from an accredited university.
  2. Valid license as a pharmacist in the State of Hawaii
  3. Three years of professional full-time work experience as a licensed pharmacist.


Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in a university-based pharmacy
