Job Description

The Market Risk Technology Team is looking for a Software Engineer (Engineer I) to contribute to the market risk platform.

The ideal candidate would be a self-starting motivated and high-performing individual who looks forward to being a strong contributor in a dynamic technology organization. This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business risk managers as well as other functions within the dealer. The candidate will be required to effectively build upon the market risk platform and collaborate closely with other teams.

Responsibilities

• As part of an agile team you will be responsible for the implementation of the software solution.

• Work with BSAs/QAs to understand and implement business functionalities.

• Strong knowledge and focus on implementing services that comply with enterprise security standards.

• Explore new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation.

• Work cohesively with team members to help advance each other skills.

• Develop and document a detailed solution design impart your subject matter expertise throughout life cycle.

• Participate in complex applications and systems development programming.

• Review technical deliverables for quality throughout detailed design and development phase identify gaps or redesign as needed.

• Identify ways to minimize cost play a role in introducing strategic solutions to support cost effectiveness and enhance stakeholder experience.

• Conduct code reviews to address quality standards compliance reusability and ease of maintenance Operational Readiness Reviews and support gating and review sign-offs for solution design.

• Support knowledge management processes and ensure knowledge is codified monitored tracked and managed.

• Ensure design leverages existing reusable components traces back to business requirements and that new modules are designed with reusability in mind.

• Identify and address any issue that affects the integrity of the application (e.g. cross-capability/release issues).

Qualifications and Skills

• 3 years experience as a software engineer working on large scale projects.

• Strong knowledge of core Java and Spring framework.

• Knowhow of Java concurrency patterns.

• Implementing automated testing and unit tests.

• Extensive experience of SCM and building tools such as GitHub Bitbucket Maven.

• Experience with DevOps CI/CD pipeline; TD EDP experience is a plus.

• Experience working with ZeroMQ Apache Kafka Protobuf JSON REST services.

• Familiarity with Linux operating system (Red Hat Enterprise Linux preferred)

• Knowledge of fixed income equity and risk management is a plus.

• Great team player.

Education

BS/BA degree in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or equivalent work experience
