Job Description

Job Title:Low Voltage Systems Technician - Fire and Burglar Alarm Systems

Location:Norfolk and Surrounding Area

Job Type:Full-Time

Salary:$75000 to $105000 annual

Responsibilities:

  • Install maintain and repair fire and burglar alarm systems in residential commercial and industrial settings.
  • Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct site surveys to determine the best placement of alarm systems and related equipment.
  • Run and terminate low voltage cabling for alarm systems.
  • Program and configure alarm panels and related devices.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on the use and maintenance of alarm systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations inspections and service calls.
  • Ensure all work complies with local state and federal regulations and codes.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in installing and servicing fire and burglar alarm systems.
  • Strong knowledge of low voltage systems wiring and cabling.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g. NFPA NEC).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
