Job Description
Job Title:Low Voltage Systems Technician - Fire and Burglar Alarm Systems
Location:Norfolk and Surrounding Area
Job Type:Full-Time
Salary:$75000 to $105000 annual
Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and repair fire and burglar alarm systems in residential commercial and industrial settings.
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct site surveys to determine the best placement of alarm systems and related equipment.
- Run and terminate low voltage cabling for alarm systems.
- Program and configure alarm panels and related devices.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on the use and maintenance of alarm systems.
- Maintain accurate records of installations inspections and service calls.
- Ensure all work complies with local state and federal regulations and codes.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics electrical engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in installing and servicing fire and burglar alarm systems.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems wiring and cabling.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g. NFPA NEC).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
