You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailFranklin University located in Columbus Ohio is seeking a full-time 12-month Lead Faculty in the School of Nursing. The Lead Faculty RN to BSN includes primary responsibility for teaching instructional coaching and support of adjunct faculty for face-to-face and on-line courses facilitation of clinical practice experiences (BSN or MSN) as applicable service on Faculty Senate and university committees scholarship networking/participation in the professional community and promoting teaching effectiveness and university requirements as needed. The Lead Faculty reports to the Chair of the School of Nursing in close collaboration with the Program Chair of the RN to BSN and non-Nurse Practitioner programs. Candidates will have the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work schedule with the expectation of being onsite as necessary.
Key responsibilities include teaching within the discipline contributing to curriculum development by collaborating with instructional designers and serving as a subject matter expert for course content. The Lead Faculty coordinates textbook selection and standardized testing materials and ensures course materials are appropriately distributed to instructors. This position also manages all aspects of student clinical and practicum experiences including placement preceptor engagement faculty oversight and site evaluation. Additional responsibilities include assessing course outcomes in collaboration with the Program Chair managing adjunct faculty recruitment and onboarding and supporting instructional excellence through observation coaching and evaluation.
Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in Nursing or a related field (PhD DNP or DNSc) possess appropriate certifications and have a current unencumbered RN license. A minimum of two years of teaching experience and four years of practical nursing experience are required. The successful candidate must also demonstrate skill in curriculum design student engagement and have working knowledge of higher education regulations and accrediting bodies. Essential competencies include strong communication skills the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment computer proficiency and professional engagement with faculty staff and the broader community.
Preferred qualifications include experience with program development accreditation and regulatory compliance as well as a background in educational technologies such as online instruction and simulation. Leadership experience within the nursing profession is also desirable. Faculty are expected to maintain active licensure and any applicable certifications throughout their employment and be available during business hours for university activities office appointments and meetings.
